If there was ever an elopement that tried its best to keep me on my toes, this was it.

On my way to meet Avery and Landon, a vehicle in front of me launched a piece of tire into the road, and of course, I hit it. After a brief moment of panic, a call to my husband for rescue, and a reminder that wedding days rarely go exactly as planned, I made it just in time.
And honestly? It was worth every bit of the chaos.
Avery and Landon exchanged vows at the Livingston Parish Courthouse before we headed outside for portraits. Along the way, we may or may not have gotten fussed at by a security guard (occupational hazard at this point), but that just added to the adventure.
One thing that surprised me was how beautiful the courthouse grounds photographed. Courthouses aren't usually the first place that comes to mind when you think of romantic portraits, but the clean architecture, soft neutral tones, and grand lines created the perfect backdrop for these two. Pair that with a nearby field that was too pretty to pass up, and we had everything we needed.
The best part, though, was Avery and Landon themselves.
Their love is the kind that doesn't need direction. It shows up naturally in the way they look at each other, the way they laugh together, and the way they seem completely at ease when they're side by side. Every image felt effortless because their connection did all the work.
Flat tire debris, rescue missions, courthouse adventures, and all—this day was such a sweet reminder that sometimes the most beautiful stories are the ones that don't go exactly according to plan.
Congratulations, Avery and Landon. 🤍✨
