On April 11th, I had the sweetest opportunity to host a bridal-focused Wedding Content Day at Carter Plantation in Springfield, Louisiana, and it was such a fun, creative day from start to finish.

This content day was created especially for newer photographers who wanted a chance to practice wedding photography in a relaxed, low-pressure setting. We had four new photographers join us, and it was so special getting to watch them learn, ask questions, try new things, and build confidence behind the camera.

As a wedding photographer in Louisiana, one of my favorite things is helping others feel more prepared for real wedding days. Weddings move fast, and there are so many little details to think about. A content day like this gives photographers space to slow down, practice, and really focus on creating beautiful images.

A Day Full of Bridal Inspiration

For this content day, we focused on all things bridal. The photographers were able to practice several parts of a wedding day, including pre-wedding bridal portraits, flat lays, indoor bridals, and outdoor bridals.

We started with beautiful bridal details and flat lays, which are such an important part of wedding galleries. Rings, florals, invitations, shoes, jewelry, and all those thoughtful little pieces tell such a meaningful part of the wedding story. It was the perfect chance for the photographers to learn how to style and capture those details in a way that feels polished, romantic, and timeless.

From there, we moved into bridal portraits around Carter Plantation. This venue has such a beautiful mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, which made it perfect for practicing different lighting, posing, and locations. Whether we were inside capturing soft bridal portraits or outside using the natural scenery, there were so many gorgeous spots to create.

Why Content Days Matter for New Wedding Photographers

One of the biggest reasons I wanted to host this day was to give new photographers a place to practice without the pressure of a real wedding timeline.

Wedding days are beautiful, but they can also be fast-paced. You have to think about lighting, posing, details, timelines, emotions, family members, and so much more all at once. During this content day, the photographers had time to slow down and really practice.

They were able to work on posing a bride, photographing wedding details, capturing bridal portraits indoors and outdoors, and getting comfortable with the flow of pre-wedding photos. Those are all skills that make such a difference when stepping into real weddings.

It was so fun watching each photographer see things a little differently. Everyone brought their own creative eye, and that is one of my favorite parts of days like this.

The Vendor Team

This day came together because of some really talented local vendors, and I am so thankful for each one of them.

Hair was beautifully done by Hair by Grace, and makeup was by Lacy Salassi. Our bride looked absolutely stunning, and their work photographed so beautifully.

The florals were designed by The Garden on Main, and they added the perfect romantic touch to the bridal details and portraits. The dress was provided by Chosen Bridal Boutique, and it was such a dreamy bridal look for the day.

We also had snacks from Roger’s Avenue, which kept everyone fueled and happy while we created.

A Sweet Day of Learning and Creating

More than anything, this day was about community, creativity, and confidence.

I loved getting to host these four photographers and give them a space to practice wedding photography in a way that felt fun and encouraging. Seeing them grow throughout the day was such a gift.

Whether they were photographing flat lays, working through bridal poses, or trying different angles during the indoor and outdoor bridals, each photographer walked away with beautiful images and more confidence for future wedding days.

I am so thankful for everyone who helped bring this Wedding Content Day to life. It was a beautiful day full of bridal inspiration, learning, laughter, and creativity — and I already cannot wait for the next one.
